3. Setting the simulation's parameters.
Clicking on the Control Panel button opens the above window.User defined parameters are:
§ Fertility (number of children per woman).
§ Number of generations covered by the simulations (i.e. the X axis).
§ Starting roll figure.
§ Maximum roll figure.
§ Number of alleles.
§ For each allele: starting frequency in the population, lethality of the homozygous genotype .
Since the overall allele frequency is 100%, change in one frequency produces complementary changes on the others. When using four alleles reaching precisely a chosen value for all of them may need a little practice.
Any change in the number of alleles returns all frequencies to the same default value.
Parameter | Default value | Minimum value | Maximum value |
Number of alleles | 2 | 2 | 4 |
Fertility | 2,1 | 2,0 | 2,5 |
Number of generation | 100 | 10 | 1000 |
Starting roll number | 100 | 2 | Maximum roll number |
Maximum roll number | 300 | Starting roll number | 10000 |
Allelic frequency | 100/ (number of alleles) | 0 | 100 |
Homozygous lethality | 0 | 0 | 100 |
